Technical Director Drilling Operations – GDE
Gadi is very passionate about oil & gas especially drilling. At Gulf Drill Energy, Gadi is in charge of planning, directing, evaluating and executing drilling programs and well designs for stripper wells, re-drills and new drills. His role includes preparing drilling programs, Authorization for Expenditures (AFE), reconciling actual costs, controlling capital expenditures, managing bidding and vendor selection, performing detailed engineering design including directional planning, deep well casing, cement operations, rig specifications, hydraulics, torque and drag modeling, recommending and implementing drilling optimization and cost reduction, contingency planning and reporting, investigations and risk assessment, coordinating drilling with service companies and regulatory agencies during the planning and execution phase of operations.
Gadi has over 10 years’ experience working in the Oil and Gas industry. He worked with Schlumberger Ltd as a directional driller in North Dakota, Wyoming, Montana and Colorado. He was responsible for planning, evaluating and drilling vertical, extended reach and directional wells (horizontal wells with 3D-curves, S-Wells, and J-Wells) with high anti-collision risk on multi-well pads. With great expertise and attention to detail, he was able to avoid wellbore collisions which could lead to loss of life, revenue and reputation thus saving millions of dollars in the process. In addition, he was able to control well bore paths, figuring out survey computations, bit hydraulics, rate of penetration and bottom hole assemblies which led to increase in revenue by staying 100% in the zone of interest.
Prior to working as a directional driller, Gadi managed the Schlumberger’s Operation Support Center in Commerce City where he used his excellent supervisory abilities to drive and standardize processes to ensure technical assurances and high-quality service delivery to the client. As a Field Service Manager, he managed engineering systems, personnel and tool orders for Colorado, Wyoming and North Dakota. Early in his career, Gadi held an Operation Support Engineer role where he used his great problem- solving ability, computer and analytical skills to support all the land rigs in North American on surveying, Measurement While Drilling (MWD), Logging While Drilling (LWD), Drilling optimization and drilling operations. Furthermore as an LWD, he operated Gamma Ray, Resistivity and Neutron Density tools. His experience working in the Austin Chalk, Barnett shale, Haynesville shale, Woodford shale, Niobrara shale, Marcellus shale and Bakken makes him very vast with drilling and formation tendencies in most US plays.
