Technical Director Geological Operations – GDE
Habib is a technical director with Gulf Drill Energy with main focus on Geological operations. Habib is a seasoned development geologist with more than 12 years of experience. Before coming to Gulf Drill Energy, Habib was Senior development / operations Geologist with Afren resources, helping manage multi-million dollar offshore and land operations. Skills used and developed in Afren include seismic interpretation, Formation evaluation, well planning, geosteering, wireline / LWD log and image interpretation, Mapping and geological cross section generation.
Prior to that, he was with Schlumberger Oilfield Services where he worked as Operations / Geosteering geologist, Operations support center Engineer and M/LWD Engineer. In these roles he worked on diverse development / operations projects for clients such as Exxon Mobil, Conoco Philips, ENI, Devon, Chesapeake, Burlington Resources, Energen, Shell, etc. Habib started his career in Schlumberger’s Drilling and Measurement business unit, working across several states in the “lower 48”. Following that he transitioned to the industry leading operations support center in Denver, Colorado as OSC engineer using state of the art technology to intervene and provide solutions in real time. During this time Habib also began training as geosteering geologist, eventually transitioning fully in his last three years with Schlumberger to the position of geosteering /operations geologist.

• Schlumberger OSC Reward of Excellence (2011).
• “Performed by Schlumberger” award for successful placement of well (100% in zone) and saving up to half the expected rig cost for the lateral section (2008).
• Schlumberger recognition for first successful run of Periscope and PowerDrive X6 in Elk Hills, California (2007).
